The school

Our schools was established in 1992 with the name "KARATAY LISESI'.Now the school is one of the most popular in our city.

The school is very big, with almost 75 teachers, and about 1300 students in 35 classes. And among our teachers' there is a pedagogical guidance teacher.We have gained popularity in our town and country as well for our great academic results. We provide an international education of the European standard, based on the Turkish National Curriculum for students between the ages of 14 and 18. We are fully prefered by parents.Our school is lively, friendly and truly international. Our school gives the very best of modern, practical education for students. Karatay High School Students are open-minded, confident and motivated, and enjoy our wide and challenging academic programme. Our teachers are enthusiastic and experienced professionals with qualifications .
KARATAY HIGH SCHOOL is located in a peaceful part out of the city centre, It is a school where students can get the best education for further study. Our students successfully finish the education . Every year their results place our school among the best schools of the kind in Turkey . Besides regular curricular activities Karatay High School offers also various extra curricular activities, such as a theatre course, cultural activities, international projects, etc.
Sport represents an important part of healthy life, the school provide with many chances for exercising during PE classes .

Karatay highschool gives every student the opportunity to practice sport and the teachers help to develope sport at school.Karatay Highschool has got outstanding achievements in cultural , academic fields,especially in sport. Sport is an important part through education in our school

Karatay Highschool has strong relationships betwen school , local outhorities and sport clubs related to education and sports promotion We organize sport contests and other sport activities.we have ‘'YOUTH AND SPORT FESTIVAL'' on 19th May dedicated to the youh by Mustafa Kemal ATATÜRK ,faunder of the Turkish Repuplic.

Theatre

9th May

With the great enthusiasm of our students and the people of the town, we had a fantastic festival for the European Day and Mothers’ Day in Antalya on May 9th. Some of the activities include exhibitions, music concerts, paintings, folk dances, dramas and so on. We are planning to have a greater festival for the year 2005.

 

Traditional Dance Group - Modern Dance Group

Our school has established a folk dance group for 10 years.This lively and talented group has performed in national folk dance contests or festivals.this group won many awards and trophies.This group consists of girls and boys dancers.They are invited to many folk dance festivals through Turkey

Summer Scool

KARATAY HIGH SCHOOL SUMMER SCHOOLThe most important thing in the world is a child, your child, your neighbour’s child, your relatives’ child or any child. A child is the hope of our future. This summer, some around 70 children and students received an enriching outdoor experience at Karatay High Schhol, Summer School,2003. The main aim of the summer camp is to experience the friendship, share the ideas and the cultures from different regions of the country and also to practise the English language which they learn in the classrooms. Some of the activities which include swimming in the blue Mediterranean Sea or in the swimming pool, canoeing, sailing, yacthing, table-tennis, drama, fancy dress party, disco, aerobics, trips to historical areas such as Olympos and trekking to Çirali, Chimera let the students experience an unforgettable holiday.

Party

After four years of education, the students have a graduation party.They celebrate their farwell party With their mothers and teachers in their schools with great enthusiasm .

 

 

 

 

 

EUROPEAN FRIENDSHIP TRAIN – THE YOUTH CULTURES’ FESTIVAL

5 / 12, MAY, 2003 BARI / ITALY
One of the fantastic festivals we joined into with six students and one teacher…The transfer through geographical areas gave us, the young travellers, the opportunity to appreciate the dimension and the extraordinary variety of the European continent, by constituting a “European” unifying moment; it represents a great occasion of socialization among the students and teachers of so many countries and different languages; letting join an important event which is certainly be kept in the memory of all the participants. The reception in Bari was organized with the direct contribution of the local schools, as a certain number of students were hosted by their new Italian griends. On the other hand, the Feast of Europe at Castel del Monte was a great occasion for a highly significant programme, open to the collaboration by the Italian Offices of the Europen Commission and Parliament, the local schools. We lived the perspectives of the European unity very intensively. We also experienced the extraordinary reactions of all the participants, the great satisfaction testified particularly by the local families which hosted the students and the teachers for a few days and finally the attention which the newspapers of a few European countries paid to the Project, represents a total confirmation of how such a Project may become in the time an important unifiying way, linking to the European Community also those countries which don’t belong to it yet like us, Turkey, in the acknowledgement that besides the political and economical choices there is a whole Continent which owes its richness to the cultural, historical and ethnic multiplicity.
