Plunge is a town in the west of Lithuania. This town is situated on both banks of the Babrungas river. People used to live in this area in BC times. Plunge got its town rights in 1792.

The most interesting architectural monu­ ment in the town is the Oginsky family estate architectural ensemble - a palace of neo-Renaissance style (1879), situated on the Babrungas river right bank. This is one of the nicest Lithuanian archi­tectural buildings of the XIX century:

There was a music-school in Plunge in 1873- 1902. The prominent Lithuanian artist and com­ poser Mikalojus Konstantinas Ciurlionis attended that school in 1889-1892. Now we have got a modern art school, 1 secondary school, 1 gymnasium, 3 basic schools, an agriculture school, a sports school in the town.

There are about 25 000 inhabitants in our town today.

Plunge is a small town.  In Plunge centre there is a fountain. It is very nice. I like it. In Plunge there is a park. There is a big old Oginskio palace in the park.We have an art museum in it. I like Plunge.

My School
Our school is nice. It is rather big. The school is about one hundred years old. In our school there are 655 pupils and 60 teachers. We often have concerts and various shows in our school. In our school there are very good teachers. I like my school.

There are 25 pupils in my class . My classmates are naughty. The teachers are good and the pupils are friendly. In my class there are 11 girls and 14 boys. In our class we celabrate pupils birthdays and other festivals. I love my class.
